GoDaddy : Small Days Out : PR activation

For our client GoDaddy, experts in websites for SMEs, we discovered that local museums are one of the UK's fastest declining small businesses. Presenting ‘Small Days Out’, our campaign to raise awareness of the fantastic local museums that are on our doorsteps and encourage young families to choose them over the big attractions half term.

Local museum posters and leaflets were scaled down and brought to life through a miniature tourist kiosk, built from scratch by skilled model maker Adrian Hardy, repped by the inimitable David Wilson. From the chaotic notice board to the carefully positioned cup of tea, this tiny world rendered in perfect detail becomes an accessible, kid-friendly version of the tourist info website.

A walk around the model, displayed at the London Museum and Water & Steam.

A quick scan of the QR code on the accompanying sandwich board takes visitors to a GoDaddy-powered web page which offers a whole range of local museums that have passed the Kids in Museums test, meaning they are appropriate for small hands and young minds.

The campaign ran throughout the February half-term week and has achieved a 3 minute feature on Sky News, in The Daily Mirror (print), I newspaper (print), BBC Radio, Evening Standard, MSN, Yahoo & Business Money amongst others.
